With a nod to the past and an eye on the future, Dunfermline Athletic`s new anthem now echoes through the stands of KDM Group East End Park.
2026 marks the 40th anniversary of Dunfermline Athletic`s first-ever club song, Eastenders, which famously featured on the BBC`s daytime favourite Pebble Mill at One. Four decades later, the fans were back in the studio, this time with a new anthem in the making.
In a collaborative effort between the Dunfermline Athletic Former Players Association (FPA), the club, and its supporters, a new version of the John Denver classic Country Roads has been recorded, with lyrics specially rewritten to reflect the spirit and pride of KDM Group East End Park. The goal? To create a matchday anthem that fans can sing loud and proud every week.

Mikey Mlotkiewicz of the FPA said:-
`We thought 40 years on from the eastenders record release, it would be a great wee project to pen our own lyrics to a song that`s become popular at clubs like Manchester United in recent seasons. If we can get the fans behind it and singing on matchdays, it could really lift the atmosphere and play a part in what we hope will be an exciting season ahead.
"We would like to put on record our thanks to Sean Carlson at Reservior in New York who have very kindly allowed us permission to record the track using the melody originally written by John Denver. The chorus is very easy and hopefully it will catch on with our fans`.

The track was recorded at Loopmaniac Studios in Dunfermline, with lead vocals provided by Stuart `˜Dusty` Miller, who released his own Pars Song `˜We are the Pars` in 1991. He was joined on the day by more than 20 supporters, as well as club legends including, Jim Leishman MBE, Ian Westwater and Scott Thomson.

With a nod to the past and an eye on the future, Dunfermline Athletic`s new anthem now echoes through the stands of KDM Group East End Park.
The song is available on the club`s Spotify channel and all your popular streaming services.
