In charge for 11 matches during his 60 days at the helm, Michael`s record was won three, drew two and lost six.
On 17th January 2025, Michael Tidser made the move from League One neighbours, Kelty Hearts, to fill the vacancy created by the departure of James McPake. Michael who was player/manager at Kelty, brought with him Kevin McDonald as his number two.
The 35 year old had an extensive playing career clocking up 450 senior appearances including for Rotherham United, Ross County and Falkirk but predominantly with Morton where he made 256 appearances over two spells at the Greenock club.
Since taking over as manager in May 2023, Michael has overseen 70 matches for Kelty Hearts. The defeat of Hibernian in this season`s Premier Sports Cup was an early statement of his team`s threat and at the half way stage in the season his Kelty side sit third in League One just five points behind league leaders Arbroath.
As a player Michael came through the youth system at Celtic, captaining their U19 side and being capped for Scotland at U17, U18 and U19 level. At the age of 20 it was at Morton where he made his debut in senior football, becoming captain at the age of 22 and winning the First Division Player of the Year in season 2012-2013 before getting a move to Rotherham.
Michael was released from the Yorkshire club after two and a half years during which time he was loaned out to Ross County. With the Staggies he made 16 appearances in the Scottish Premiership. He returned to Morton and again made over 100 appearances in that spell until joining Falkirk in 2019. His season with the Bairns was curtailed by Covid and in 2020 he joined Kelty Hearts. He captained the team to the League Two title under the charge of Kevin Thomson and after taking over from John Potter for season 2023-2024, Michael steered Kelty Hearts to their highest ever league finish, sixth place in League One. He made 138 appearances for Kelty the most recent on 14th December 2024.
Michael was relieved of his duties on Monday 17th March 2025.
