Stewart Petrie
Mo Hutton
Scott Thomson

The Tenth Hall of Fame was held in the Glen Pavilion, Dunfermline on Saturday 27th April.
Three inductees into the Dunfermline Athletic Hall of Fame

Stewart Petrie
Player signed August 1993 was Bert Paton`s first signing.
296 appearances for Dunfermline over ten years

Stewart was presented with his award by his former team mate Ivo Den Bieman.
Ivo said that the never say die attitude eventually won the championship for Dunfermline.
As a former Montrose player himself, Ivo said that Stewart thoroughly deserved to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Stewart said:-

`I had ten great years here and I was very privileged to play for this magnificent club. Once you have been there for that length of time it is my club. It is always the first result that I look for. I know that you have maybe been struggling at times this season but I`m sure that once Stevie gets going next year you will start climbing the table.`

Ivo added:-

`I came in just before Stewart at Dunfermline and we had five years together. Fantastic years with a squad that was built on reliability, drive, hard work and a mixture of players that came from part time football and full time established players with a never say die attitude.

`Before we won the championship two times we didn`t make it but the third time, down to his goal and effort at Tannadice we beat them because the trophy was in the back of the car at Tannadice. It was unpacked the week after when we beat Airdrie at East End Park. That is the spirit of that team and the spirit of Stewart. He had another five years at Dunfermline and did magnificent.

`I played in his testimonial game and we have been in touch for the rest of the time. I am a former Montrose player, and what he has done there is remarkable as well. He is a very special character, he is a dear friend of mine and well deserves this Hall of Fame accolade.`

Mo Hutton
Kit Manager and Trainer, 1993 - present
25 years with the Pars.

The surprise was sprung on video with comments from former players including Bobby Robertson, Andrius Skerla, David Graham, Billy Mehmet, Joe Cardle, Simon Donnelly, Ben Richards-Everton, Barry Nicholson, Kevin Rutkiewicz, Martin Hardie, Andy Geggan, Andy Barrowman, Richie Byrne, Calum Woods and Michael Moffat. Mo was presented with his award from Stevie Crawford and Greg Shields.

Everyone able was on their feet to give Mo received a standing ovation and showed great emotion before being able to respond.

`I go back to the days of Paul D`Mello who took the cheese off the bread! We had some great people and football players make you feel young. I am 67 now but young guys just keep you on your toes because they all have one liners.`

Stevie said:-

`This is a well deserved award. He was an inspiration for me when I was a player and everything the boys have said on the video clips, I am sure that the players here would back me for that with every word of it.

`Mo`s reaction tonight is what we are going to try and bring back to this club. It showed what it meant to him and finally I think Mo would be the first to say that he took over from a very special guy at the club. He had no better person to show him the role than Joe Nelson.`

Scott M Thomson
Player and Captain 1998-2009
Signed: 01/07/98, 11 years at the club.
292 (+ 14 sub) Dunfermline appearances, 22 goals

Scott was brought to East End Park by Bert Paton but despite playing well in previous seasons, it was under Jimmy Calderwood that his full potential developed.

Scott claimed that getting Dunfermline back into Europe was his personal highlight.

Ian Westwater in presenting the award called Scott a genuinely leader.

`Me and Scott only overlapped for eighteen months. Scott was one of the quickest players that you would come across. He never gets the credit for that but nipper by name and nipper by design.

`Both Stewart and Scott are real Dunfermline men but I don`t think that they get the credit the6 deserve. Under rated because they were utility players. Scott was a born leader and a fantastic striker of the ball.`
