The team of the season is: Deniz Mehmet (Dunfermline), Cammy Ballantyne (Airdrieonians), Kyle Benedictus (Dunfermline), Callum Fordyce (Airdrieonians), Josh Edwards (Dunfermline), Adam Frizzell (Airdrieonians), Matty Todd (Dunfermline), Aidan Nesbitt (Falkirk), Ruari Paton (Queen of the South), Calum Gallagher (Airdrieonians), Callumn Morrison (Falkirk).
Kyle Benedictus and Matty Todd are also nominees for the PFA Scotland League One Player of the Year Awards. The individual winners will be announced at the annual awards ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday evening.
Ahead of the event, the League One Team of the Year has been revealed, with Dunfermline having the joint-highest number within it alongside Airdrieonians.
Goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet has the best shut out record in the league with just 21 goals conceded and has recorded 24 clean sheets in all competitions.
Back in June last year Kyle Benedictus was James McPake`s first signing. On joining Dunfermline from Raith Rovers, he was appointed club captain and played in all but one of the club`s league matches.
Josh Edwards joined the club from Airdrieonians in the summer of 2019 but recently signed a contract extension to keep him at the club until the summer of 2024. The 22 year old played the full ninety minutes of 32 of the Pars League One matches this season.
A product of the Dunfermline Athletic youth system, Matty Todd was an automatic choice for James McPake this season scoring 11 goals in 40 appearances before appendicitis ended his season.
