Stenhousemuir snatched a last gasp winner against a Dunfermline side who had reached the final of the Scottish League Cup six months before.

If the onlookers at Ochilview were few and far between, they certainly could not complain about lack of variety. Thirteen goals, two hat-tricks and a great fight-back by Dunfermline. It was certainly a thrilling finish to Stenhousemuir`s 1949/50 season home programme.

All thirteen goals were unsaveable, each being scored from point-blank range. It was one of those days when the forwards revelled in their job, and little wonder, for Ochilview was in superb condition.

The `Muir took the lead in 14th minute through J. ALLAN, but within 10 minutes Athletic were on equal terms, JUNIOR being the scorer. A minute later, THOMSON restored the home lead, and just on the half-hour, BANNAN made the home total three. McGARRY for Dunfermline reduced the home lead on 34 minutes.

In the second-half, THOMSON scored twice in rapid succession (48 mins and 50 mins) to make the score five-two in favour of the Larbert team and in 64th minute J. ALLAN added a sixth goal.

Then came a quite remarkable comeback. Dunfermline, taking advantage of the momentary absence of home centre-forward HOPE, struck back and, after JACK had unfortunately beaten his own "keeper in the 73rd minute McGARRY (75 mins) and BONNAR (80 mins and 87 mins) both scored to make the score six goals apiece.

Two minutes from the end J. ALLAN scored to give the Warriors full points.
