The Pars put a halt to their losing streak but failed to find the net for a third game in a row.
Dunfermline Athletic were desperate to halt a concerning three-match losing streak when they welcomed Queen`s Park to KDM Group East End Park. Without their injured captain Kyle Benedictus, the suspended Jefferson Cáceres and John Tod who was on the bench, into the starting eleven came Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen after suspension, Keith Bray and Nurudeen Abdulai. The latter two making their first starts for Dunfermline.
Queen`s Park arrived at East End in similarly modest form, though they were buoyed by their recent 2-1 victory at Ross County that ended a three-match winless run. The Spiders have been the division`s draw specialists with four stalemates from their eight league matches. Manager Sean Crichton made one change from the team that started in Tuesday night`s defeat to Partick Thistle `“ Seb Drozd being preferred to Timam Scott.
The tail of Storm Amy was still chilling the ground as this Scottish Championship kicked off with Dunfermline attacking the goal at the Vertu Community Stand end. Two Pars free kicks in the opening five were launched into the visitors` box for Calum Ferie to clutch before Rory Macleod got in the first shot of the afternoon but from 20 yards out that went wide right.

Queen`s Park tried to work the ball out of their own half with spells of possession but it was the home side that were creating the chances. On 12 minutes a move from Charlie Gilmour, through Bray to Chris Kane provided a shot but it went narrowly wide right. Four minutes later the Spiders brought a good take out from Billy Terrell as he plucked a Tyrece McDonnell cross from the right out of the air.
Then in 18 minutes a Shea Kearney cross evaded the Queens` defence and Gilmour drove a left footed shot from 18 yards on to the crossbar and Alfons Amade`s follow up flew over it. Next a Tod cross from the right for Bray at the back post was headed on target but again Ferie collected.
Gilmour exchanged passes with Tod in 31 minutes to tee up a shot on target from 20 yards that the keeper held. The Glasgow side forced their first corner of the game but Aidan Connolly belted that fruitlessly through the box.

Terrell held a low drive from Longridge and then punched clear from a free kick from the same player after Macleod had bundled over Henry Fieldson. The big keeper required the physios on before play resumed. The visitors got closer to the Dunfermline box as the time added on was played and when Longridge cut back for Josh Fowler to shoot it was Kane`s outstretched left foot on the goalie that denied the Spiders.
Playing with their backs to a strong wind Dunfermline has pressed Queen`s Park for the majority of the first half but at the break they had yet to find the opposition net.

First attempt to alter the scoreline in the second half came from Drozd but Bray blocked the shot. It wasn`t until 59th that a good Dunfermline move threaten the Queens goal. Tod`s cross however was turned behind for a corner on the right and when Bray delivered Abdulai headed over the bar.
In 66 minutes Neil Lennon made a triple substitution withdrawing Rory Macleod, Keith Bray and Chris Kane to make way for Kane Ritchie-Hosler, Matty Todd and Barney Stewart. Ritchie-Hosler was involved right away flying down the right to cross but there were no takers.
Queen`s Park forced two corners in 73 minutes but that almost did the Pars a favour as a quick counterattack required Ferie to race out of his penalty box to beat Ritchie-Hosler to the ball. A speculative shot from Andrew Tod 35 yards out was held by Ferie. A wild clearance yielded a Pars corner in 77 minutes but Charlie Fox headed Todd`s cross away.

Grant Savoury latched on to a poor pass out of defence to feed Fieldson on the left and Terrell had another save to make. The Pars keeper kept out Savoury`s shot in 81st minute. Dunfermline just couldn`t create the openings required to penetrate a stubborn opposition defence.
The clock was running down as Stewart chested down the opportunity for Kearney but that went straight into the keeper`s arms. Next it was Todd sent through the right channel by Stewart but his low shot travelled outside the left post. A long ball from Chilokoa-Mullen was edged on by Stewart for Tod to challenge in the box but the defence came out on top.
It was another frustrating match at East End Park, Dunfermline as Queen`s Park continued undefeated away from home. Three successive league games without a goal, just one point and now in seventh place.
