Meet the Heritage Trust trustees

Russell Shepherd (Chair)
Russell was born into a Pars family and he is the third generation. He is a season ticket holder in the North West Stand and first attended a match at East End Park in 1964. He is a keen programme collector and is scanning his collection for use by the Trust. He enjoys playing in goals every Sunday in 7s to keep fit. Russell joins his son Adam as a trustee. Russell retired in 2020 from ATOS in Edinburgh having previously worked for Bank of Scotland.

Bonar Mercer (Vice-Chair)
Bonar was born into a family of Pars supporters, so the club is truly in his blood. Signed for Dunfermline in 1970 and freed in 1973, he had short spells playing part time for Stirling Albion and Montrose. He opened first `unisex` hairdressers in Bruce Street in 1973, went to Edinburgh University in 1974 and studied Economics, Accountancy and Business Studies, joining the University Air Squadron and being offered a flying commission in 1976. He played rugby for Kilmarnock then signed for a second time for Dunfermline and played part time while attending University. Bonar has had a broad business career - travel agencies, hospitality, incentives, medical study analysis and bringing Russian students to UK education establishments. He is still a Dunfermline supporter, but so sad that his father died before seeing Bonar play at his beloved East End Park.

Douglas Scott (Secretary)
A lifelong Pars fan having been brought up across the road from East End Park, Douglas was co-founder of dafc.net and co-author of the publication Black and White Magic. Since December 2000 has provided every match preview and match report for the Dunfermline Athletic official website.

Graeme Herd (Treasurer)
Graeme was born in Dunfermline in 1985 and has been a regular follower of DAFC since that time. He has been employed by Lloyds Banking Group for a number of years in various roles such as High Value Relationship Banking, Credit Sanctioning and recently in Financial Crime. Graeme currently volunteers in organising the Supporters` Council and is the author and custodian of the Supporters` Charter. Graeme is a regular of the North West Stand at EEP and pre-match he enjoys the live music in Charlie D`s.

Christine Scott (Curator)
Christine was born into a family of Pars supporters and started attending games in 1962, having pestered her father and older sister to take her with them. She has 2 children and 3 grandchildren who are Pars supporters, with the grandchildren being 5th generation supporters. Christine worked as a secretary at Marconi, then with Fife Council as a Council Services Officer until 2007, and part-time for the Guild of Q Butchers until retiring in 2019. She was involved with the Young Pars Club and Chairperson since 1995 until 2022. Christine is "Sammy`s Granny" as her daughter designed the Pars Mascot, Sammy the Tammy. Since 2007 she has been interviewing players and managers for the Club`s website, and is involved with Twitter for both first team and reserve fixtures. In her spare time (when there is any) she enjoys gardening, keep fit and looking after her grandchildren.

Duncan Simpson (Historian)
Duncan was born in Dunfermline in 1951 and has been a Pars fan for over sixty years. Duncan became a match programme contributor in 1984, moving to editor in 1987, a position he held until 2021 - a magnificent 34 years. He has been involved in a wide range of initiatives at East End Park over many years. He is also Club Historian and is Historian of the Heritage Trust.

Adam Shepherd (Social Media)
Adam was born into a Pars family in 1997 but despite attending games from an early age he has only been a season ticket holder in the North West Stand since 2013. As well as being a Trustee of the Heritage Trust, Adam is also on the board of the Pars Supporters Trust and the Supporters` Council. Away from East End Park Adam is employed in the public sector working on a range of issues. In his spare time away from football Adam enjoys travelling and cooking.

Craig Brown
Craig is the club`s official photographer and involved in the media side of the club with a team that manages the club`s social networks. Prior to working with the club he was a season ticket holder in the Norrie McCathie stand, having started to follow the club in the Jimmy Calderwood era. He is a freelance photographer who has covered events such as the Olympic torch baton relay and T in the Park. Away from work, Craig is an avid badminton player and 7s goalkeeper.

Brian Duncan
Brian came to Dunfermline in 1978 but only started coming to East End Park with his children in the late 80`s. Brian is a Software Development Engineer working on chip-and-pin terminals and has done some web site and database development. He also developed the season ticket system and Pars TV.

Ian Hunter
Ian was born in Dunfermline and has lived here for almost all his life. His grandfather and father were both Pars supporters as are his wife, his sons and his granddaughter. A plinth outside the stadium commemorates his grandfather, Sgt. D F Hunter VC. He is a chartered accountant and was a partner in a Big Four accounting firm for over 25 years. He was actively involved in the Pars United campaign to rescue the club from administration. He was a director of DAFC from September 2013 until May 2024 and a director of Pars United CIC from November 2017 until its solvent liquidation in March 2025. He now enjoys being able to watch the Pars, both home and away, with his family.

Stuart Simpson
Stuart was born in 1966 into a Pars supporting family and can`t remember a time when attending Dunfermline Athletic matches on a Saturday afternoon was not the norm.
He was a mechanical Engineer in Rosyth Royal Dockyard from 1983 until 2000, he has been a member of staff for Police Scotland from that time until present.
He has four children as well as four grandchildren and is married to Wendy.
He still attends home and away matches with his father and at present four generations of the family sit in the main stand at East End Park. He assisted in the creation and publication of the "Into The Valley" book.
Away from football Stuart enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and fulfilling his role as a Unison Shop Steward.

Chris Wishart
Chris spent his schooldays in a house, right opposite East End Park, on Halbeath Road. It was inevitable, therefore, that he would become a Pars fan. He started going to matches in the mid 1950`s with his father and from 1964 he started going home and away with his pals. In later years he began sponsoring the Club which he continues to this day. He also provides sponsorship for the Former Players Association and for the Young Pars.
Since its inception around ten years ago Chris has worked tirelessly for the Former Players Association for whom he is Secretary. One of the sponsorship schemes which he organises is the Guest of Honour Scheme. This has provided most of the subjects for Christine Scott`s excellent video interviews for the Heritage Trust and the interviewees for Jim Leishman at matchday hospitality.
Chris has an extensive collection of Pars programmes and memorabilia and a wealth of anecdotes.

Gavin Davies
Gavin is the only English based Trustee, residing in Berwick Upon-Tweed. He has been a Dunfermline supporter all his life, including being a ball boy. Match days allows Gavin to return to see his family and exchange banter with his friends.
