It was the first of six matches in November for the Pars and the objective was to follow on Tuesday night`s win over Livingston with success over fifth placed Partick Thistle. For the first time this season James McPake named an unchanged side. Partick boss Kris Doolan was without Aidan Fitzpatrick and in his place brought in 30 year old former Ayr and Hamilton player Robbie Crawford.

Wreaths of Remembrance were laid and a minute silence observed before play got underway with Partick attacking the goal at the Norrie McCathie Stand end. The home side had early territorial advantage, pressing high but eventually Thistle got up the park to bring the Pars defence into the game. A long throw in from Lewis McCann on the right evaded the leaping Chris Hamilton and the defence cleared before a 16th minute repeat from the left side set up Lewis for cross into the box that Brian Graham glanced away ahead of Sam Young. Kieran Ngwenya executed the first shot on target but that got blocked and when Kyle Benedictus shot from a 19th minute David Wotherspoon corner unfortunately he blasted high and wide.

Thistle forced a corner when Scott Robinson threatened but it was soon back to Dunfermline doing the bulk of the attacking. A passing move up the left from Clay to Ngwenya ended up with Wotherspoon providing an inviting ball for Comrie 18 yards out but his attempt was stopped.

Tobi Oluwayemi had an easy job in gathering a 37th minute Logan Chalmers free kick 18 yards out on the right touchline. It had been a first half in which neither keeper had to make a save until Oluwayemi was called into action to save a 42nd minute shot on the break by Chalmers. The Pars keeper then held a header as Lee Ashcroft got on the end of the resultant corner and the half concluded with two Dunfermline corners but it would be goalless at the break.

Kane Ritchie-Hosler replaced Lewis McCann for the second half and Matty Todd was also called upon when Chris Kane was unable to continue just five minutes into the half. Mebude won a 52nd minute corner down in front of the North West but Wotherspoon`s low delivery could not be converted by Hamilton. A minute later Clay let rip on a shot from 25 yards out and Wotherspoon had another corner to take from the right. This time it reached Clay but he could not get enough on the shot to trouble Myles Roberts.

A Ngwenya cross just evaded Ritchie-Hosler in front of goal but then the full back collected a yellow card in conceding a free kick on the right. Thistle scored from this 57th minute free kick, Turner played the ball into the six yard box where O`Reilly`s header sent the ball on target to be turned in by Scott ROBINSON at the right post. 0-1

Ewan Otoo was immediately brought on, Craig Clay going off and really the Fifers should have been back on level terms in 61 minutes when a Mebude cut back invited Todd to shoot. O`Reilly blocked the shot but the ball dropped for Hamilton but, to howls from the home crowd, his effort sailed over the bar. Next minute an early ball from Ritchie-Hosler was swept away for a corner by Kanayo Megwa but Roberts came out to hold Wotherspoon`s cross.

Ngwenya headed over a Wotherspoon cross but Thistle began to lie deeper and it was increasingly difficult for Dunfermline to get into shooting positions. They were seeing a lot of the ball it was just hard to break down the Jags defence. Indeed when Oluwayemi handled outside his box they had to defend another dangerous setpiece situation. This time Turner`s cross was headed clear by Benedictus.

Time was running away from the Pars as both Craig Wighton and Taylor Sutherland came on to bring the subs used total to six. In time added a Ritchie-Hosler shot was deflected into the hands of Roberts but there would be no equaliser and Partick held out for their third successive win.
