The Pars striker won six Scottish caps in season 1999-2000 playing in the matches against Bosnia, Lithuania, England twice, Holland and France. Mark scored a sensational hattrick in three minutes within the first quarter of an hour of the UEFA Cup match against Jeunesse Esch in August 2000 but just four games later he was off for a short spell on loan at Birmingham and then to Premier League side Ipswich.
Celtic sold him to Portsmouth for the start of the 2001-02 season but he was to make only ten starts and 16 appearances from the bench during his 41 month spell there. Portsmouth had him farmed out on loan to Dundee, Wigan Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday (where he played in the same side as ex Par Lee Bullen) and Rotherham before releasing him to Hearts on a free in January 2005. In seventeen appearances for the Jambos Mark scored four times although as a late sub, he very often was given little time to prove his worth.
The nomadic Scot got his career back on track at Dunfermline in season 2005-06 scoring 16 goals including a hattrick in the relegation settler at home to Livingston. Injury plagued Mark in 2006-07 with ten of his 24 appearances coming from the bench and he failed to find the net.
As at 01/07/07: 58 Dunfermline appearances, 16 goals
Left Dunfermline at the end of Season 2007-2008 and signed for Rotherham United.
