Ross Forbes was born in Bishopbriggs and began his football career with Motherwell. The midfielder made 70 appearances for the Steelmen before moving in September 2012 to Partick Thistle at a time when Dunfermline has also shown an interest in signing him.

Ross made 30 appearances for Thistle and he scored six goals for them, two of which were against Dunfermline last season. Although featuring in recent fixtures, he has not started a match since 1st December. Ross has signed a deal with Dunfermline until the end of next season.

Ross was willing to dropping down the divisions from the Premiership to join the Pars in League One so that he could play regular first team football.

Made his Pars debut on 1st February 2014 at Bayview when the Pars defeated East Fife 3-1. Scored in final Dunfermline appearance against Stirling Albion on 10th January 2015.
