Dundonian who made 86 appearances for Dunfermline between January 2007 and the end of the 2009-2010 season.
A midfielder, Stephen started his senior career at Pittodrie and made 131 appearances in four seasons there. He played in Aberdeen`s League Cup win in 1995. Spent three relatively successful years in the English Premier League with Newcastle making 52 appearances before moving to Watford in 2011.
Stephen returned north to join Hibs for season 2003-2004. Injury blighted his first season at Easter Road, but he made 34 appearances in 2005-2006, scoring once. Signed initially for Dunfermline on loan from Hibs in January 2007 before signing a two year deal in July 2007.

On 13 January 2012, Glass joined Shamrock Rovers as assistant manager, working for his former Dunfermline boss Stephen Kenny. On 11 September 2012 he was put in temporary charge of Shamrock Rovers, following Kenny`s dismissal as manager.
After becoming an academy coach of Atlanta United FC in August 2018, Glass made the move to become the head coach of the club`s USL Championship side Atlanta United 2 on 30 January 2019.
On July 27, 2020, Glass was named interim coach of Atlanta United, replacing Frank de Boer, who had departed the club by mutual agreement a few days prior. Glass returned to his role at Atlanta United 2 after Gabriel Heinze was appointed the full-time coach of the club`s first-team in January 2021.
Glass was appointed Aberdeen manager in March 2021, succeeding Derek McInnes.
