Signed on loan from Rangers on the last day of the January 2012 transfer window. Capped at both U19 and U21 level Hutton had played 14 times for Rangers, Manager Jim McIntyre has described the 20 year old as powerful and expanded:-

"Kyle has got vision, a good passer of the ball and at six foot he gives us a bit of presence."

Hutton made his professional d?but for Rangers in the opening SPL match of the 2010 -11 season and went on to make his first start in the Co-operative Insurance Cup against the Pars on 21 September 2010.  Hutton was loaned to Partick Thistle earlier this season and made 12 appearances for the Jags, playing the full 90 minutes every time.
