Central defender who made 13 appearances between September 2015 and January 2016

Dunfermline signed central defender Marc McAusland in September 2015 following serious injury to two defenders. The 27 year old had spent eight years at St Mirren over two different spells and during that time made 187 appearances for the club. With his contract due to expire at the end of season 2014-15, McAusland agreed to leave the club by mutual consent on 15 April 2015.

Having started as a youth at St Mirren he was on loan to Stranraer when he made his senior debut in October 2006. McAusland made his Buddies senior debut coming on as a substitute during a 2`“0 win against Gretna on 29 March 2008. However, by the end of the 2008`“09 season, he had only played a handful of games for the club.In the summer of 2009,

McAusland moved to Queen of the South and while there made the squad for the Scotland under 21 training camp. In July 2010, McAusland returned to St Miiren, signing a three-year contract. On 13 March 2013, Marc extended his contract by a further two years, taking him up to the end of season 2014`“15.

McAusland was a favourite within the St Mirren support as he is a die-hard supporter of the club himself and was part of St Mirren`s League Cup winning side in 2013.

Marc exercised an option in his existing contract that he signed in September, which allowed him to leave subject to certain terms and conditions being met.

Marc made 13 appearances for Dunfermline and made a big contribution, on and off the park, while at Dunfermline. He left on 26th January 2016 with the best wishes of everyone at East End Park, and their thanks for his efforts.
