Phil McGuire signed a two year deal with Dunfermline just prior to getting on the plane to jet off to Holland for the 2006 pre season tour. He originally hails from Glasgow but brought up in Dundee,  signed for Dunfermline from Doncaster Rovers where he had been based since July 2005.

The former Scotland U21 defender played for Aberdeen from the age of 15 before going down south and he is now back north of the border at Dunfermline.

As at 01/07/07: 31 Dunfermline appearances including two off the bench. Goals - 2.  One against Rangers in the Scottish Cup and the other in the 1-0 home win over Hibs on 7th April 2007.
