Paul Paton is described as as a defensive midfielder. The experienced 32 year old joined Dunfermline from Falkirk but he has played at a number of clubs including in the Premier League for Dundee United and St Johnstone.

Paul who was born in Paisley but has played for Northern Ireland through his father who was born in Larne. He started his career at Queens Park making his debut at the age of 18 and going on to make 106 appearances before crossing the city to play for Partick Thistle.

At Thistle he made 167 appearances, playing alongside Greg Shields in a few games before moving on to Dundee United. After three seasons at Tannadice during which time he won the first of four caps for Northern Ireland, and one and a half seasons at St Johnstone where he played in the Europa Cup, Paul played in League One with Plymouth Argyle.

He returned to Scotland to play last season at Falkirk where he made 35 appearances including the two victories at East End Park.
