Teams | Shaun Rooney

Made 14 appearances and scored one goal before leaving to join York City in May 2016.

The former Queens Park right back who turned 19 in July joined Dunfermline after a couple of weeks on trial at Dunfermline. He was on the bench at Peterhead on Saturday 22nd August and came on as a second half substitute in the following Saturday`s league match against Stranraer at East End Park.

Shaun has been described as a strapping young man, 6ft 3in with big, broad shoulders. He has the stature to be used at centre-back or as a towering striker, but he has developed into a fine modern full-back. Fit, athletic and a little pacey, Rooney is very capable of attacking and defending the right flank.

After starting playing football with Bellshill Boys` Club, Shaun moved to Dundee United at under 13 and played for them for three seasons. He moved to Queens Park for season 2013-2014 and made his debut at Hampden against Ayr United on 27th July 2013. He made 30 appearances fot the Spiders last season and even scored four goals.
