Teams | Jim Scott
Jim Scott became a regular during season 1971-1972
Born: Buckhaven 19th November 1953
Signed: 13th July 1970
Jim attracted the attention of the Pars after a remarkable season for Leven Royals in which he scored 98 goals and helped the team to several trophies. Much to his surprise he was given an early taste of first team football, making his debut as a substitute in a League Cup tie against Motherwell on 15th August 1970, still only 16 years of age.
Jim became a regular in the team during 1971-1972 and scored his first goal on 18th September in a 1-1 draw at Ayr. Jim was almost an archetypal Scottish midfield terrier, fiesty and hard working, never giving an inch to players who stood taller than his 5`7".
Jim was a regular through the 1970s, his last appearance coming on 27th October 1979. He had served the club loyally, playing in a total of 292 matches for Dunfermline, scoring 16 goals, before moving on to East Fife at the start of 1980-1981.
