The Trust recently auctioned a special copy of Jack Alexander's book "McCrae's Battalion", to help with the cost of taking two soldiers from the Army Personnel Recovery Unit to France as part of the centenary commemorations for the Battle of the Somme on 1 July.
The book was signed by Raith Rovers Director and well-known author Val McDermid, as follows:
"In memory of all players and supporters of Raith Rovers, Falkirk, Heart of Midlothian and Dunfermline Athletic, who fought and fell whilst serving in the ranks of McCrae`s Battalion 16th Royal Scots at the Battle of the Somme 1916."
Raymond Davies of Kincardine Supporters' Club is seen here being presented with the book by DAFC Chairman Bob Garmory and Heritage Trustee Kenny McLachlan. Raymond bid £100, and a further donation of £30 meant that the Trust raised a welcome £130.
