News & Events | Exhibition: We Did It For Norrie
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Norrie McCathie`s untimely death on 8 January 1996, the "We Did It For Norrie" Exhibition was open at EEP for 10 days from 29 December 2015 receiving 925 visitors in that period.
Among the many exhibits were Norrie`s actual strips, boots and tracksuit, plus previously unpublished photos from Norrie`s family. Pars fans also loaned their own memorabilia.
There was a reading area in the "Family Room" allowing visitors to reflect on the tragic events of January 1996, and a series of wallboards in the "Timeline Corridor" illustrated Norrie`s career and life. These are being left in situ after the exhibition.
Fans contributed to the exhibition by writing "A Note For Norrie" on Post-it Notes to create a wall of blue and red matching the #SPIRIT motif of the commemoration events. These were then pasted in a "Memories of Norrie" book to be given after the exhibition to Norrie`s mum, who visited the exhibition with Norrie`s brother Rab and other family members.
The Trust is very grateful to the McCathie family and to all the Pars fans who helped with and contributed to the Exhibition`s success.
