Chris arrived on loan from Dundee United on 5th August 2022. He scored on his debut as a sub against FC Edinburgh the following day and made his starting debut in the home match v Airdrieonians on 27 August. The midfielder started 24 times and was used as a substitute 12 times.
The nineteen year old is described as an attacking midfielder and he is a product of the Dundee United youth system. He started off at Logie Harp Boys Club and while attending the Scottish FA Performance School programme at St John`s High School, Chris gained recognition while playing for United`s U18 squad. He represented Scotland at U16 level in the Victory Shield and subsequently at U18 and U19 levels.
Towards the end of the 2018-19 season, just less than a month after playing his first reserve game, Chris debuted as a substitute in the Championship at the age of 16 years and 27 days, confirming his place (then) as the youngest ever footballer to play for United`s first team.
On 16th October 2020, Chris was sent out on loan to Montrose, where he stayed until being recalled on 15th January, following the suspension of football in the lower tiers. He started 16 of his 24 appearances for the Angus side.
On February 23, 2022, Chris signed a contract extension to keep him at United until the summer of 2024.
