Kallum was born in Salford on 15th June 1989. He has had a far travelled career, which began with his local team Salford City, who were then a non-league side. He started his senior career with Oldham Athletic in 2006, but never made it into the first team and began the next season with Rochdale.
Higgy enjoyed three seasons at Spotland, during which he had two loan periods with Accrington Stanley. Kallum made 72 appearances for Rochdale before moving to Falkirk in 2010 where he made 50 appearances and was pretty much a regular choice with The Bairns.
That persuaded Huddersfield Town to sign him for the 2012/13 season. Unable to establish himself in the first team, Kallum had short loan periods with Barnsley, Carlisle United and Motherwell.
Club number ten was Partick Thistle, whom he joined for season 2013/14. A successful spell at Firhill saw Kilmarnock snap him up two seasons later. A fairly regular appearance rate for Killie during season 2015/16 and the wanderer was on the move again. This time Dunfermline Athletic was his destination. A big favourite with Pars fans, Kallum played in 113 matches, scoring 19 goals. Despite this, his contract was not renewed at the end of season 2018/19.
Next, he signed for Real Kashmir but in 2020 he joined the exciting project at Kelty Hearts. Again he was a popular member of the side until the end of 2022-2023 season, when with the change of management, his contract was not renewed. Kallum started the next season in the Lowland League, with Tranent.
