Terry Tighe joined Dunfermline Athletic in the summer of 1956 from Newtongrange Star. He has been described by the historian of Newtongrange as a ‘box-to-box midfielder` who could score goals.
After one season he was transferred to Accrington Stanley for whom he played for four years, before further transfers to Crewe Alexandria and Southport. Ironically he played for Crewe against Accrington in their last league game in March 1962 before Accrington left the English League. Happily however, he also played for the reformed Accrington Stanley in the Lancashire Combination League in 1970.
