With a sturdy physique that belied the fact he was still a teenager, right-back Jimmy Hogg first appeared for the Pars on loan from Celtic in a 3-3 draw at Kilmarnock on 19th December 1936. He returned the following season for a longer loan period before signing permanently in 1938.

A strong, consistent player, Jimmy was also a young man of great personal conviction and was a conscientious objector during the war. Early in 1940 he became one of only 3,500 Britons to be granted unconditional exemption from service but it seems to have caused little or no controversy during his playing career, which continued throughout.

Jimmy`s association with Dunfermline Athletic lasted nearly a decade until his retiral from the game in October 1946.

Jimmy is the only pre-war player in the Dunfermline`s 200 Club, indeed.
Jimmy Hogg played 258 times for Dunfermline Athletic, which places him 24th.
