Pat Wilson joined Dunfermline Athletic from Blairhall Colliery in the summer of 1962 aged sixteen. He stayed until May 1966, playing a small number of games for the first team, being perhaps unlucky to coincide with a halcyon period at East End Park.

Son of a miner, Pat had six brothers and two sisters. His uncle John was manager at Blairhall, and was 16 when he was signed up there. It wasn`t too long before Dunfermline came in for him in 1963 to go on the ground staff, along with a certain Alex Edwards. Pat joined Aberdeen after he was released in 1966. Raith Rovers followed and then five years at his last club was Berwick Rangers. It was really when he played for Raith Rovers and Berwick Rangers that he established himself as a regular first team player.

When he stopped playing Pat went to Cowdenbeath as a coach under Frank Connor, and after Frank left, went to the Rovers to work under Gordon Wallace.

He was a sales rep in the drinks business. Having started with Hendry`s soft drinks, he then branched into wines and spirits for a while. Then had a spell running the East Port Bar in the town.
