George McKimmie joined Dunfermline as a forward from Dundee Violet in 1968. He went on to play in the second leg of the European Cup-Winners` Cup semi-final against Slovan Bratislava, aged 17, in 1969 in what was only his fourth first-team appearance. In the summer of 1971, George emigrated to South Africa and played with the Highlands Park club in Johannesburg. Died 19 October 2016 in South Africa.
