Tall skinny forward who established himself with Falkirk, where he was something of a cult hero. Big Maxie, as he was known, once scored seven goals in a game against Clyde.
He was signed by Celtic in November 1964, for £15,000 but only played 8 games, the last of which was a 5-1 trouncing at East End Park. He was freed to St Johnstone for season 1965/66, but after only 5 games, he was signed by Dunfermline.
He managed around a dozen games for The Pars before emigrating to South Africa in 1967.
