Doug Considine was signed from Aberdeen as a defender in 1981, the Pars paying what was then a big transfer fee in Pat Stanton`s efforts to get the club back to the top league. He played for just two seasons, and failed to make the hoped-for impact, and was part of Pars relegated team in 1982/83. In 1983, he retired from football to commence a business career aged 26.
