Gordon signed for Dunfermline in 1984 from Airdrieonians, but his appearances were curtailed partly due to injury after a bright start. He came back to fitness, and the side, in the second half of season 1985/86 and assisted the club in winning the title. He moved on to Raith Rovers at the end of the season.
