Talbot signed a one-year contract in June 2015, becoming the first signing of new manager Allan Johnston He helped the Pars to win promotion as champions in the 2015–16 season.
He signed a new contract in April 2016 keeping him at the club for a further two years. He was named as the club`s Player of the Month for both October and November 2017. Talbot left Dunfermline in June 2018 following the end of his contract.
He had made 200 appearances for Livingston after joining them in 2008 from Port Vale and featured 40 times for Dunfermline in his first season with them.
During his time at Livi, Jason had won the Third Division and Second Division titles in successive years. Having been at Everton as a youth, he started his senior career in 2003 with Bolton Wanderers and was loaned out to Derby County and Mansfield before joining the latter in 2005. The following year year he signed for Port Vale and made 47 appearances for the League One club before coming north in July 2008.
