New Zealand-born Michael McGlinchey joined Dunfermline in November, on loan from Celtic until 20th January 2008. The 20 year old midfielder had made just one first-team appearance for Celtic in the Boxing Day 2005 win over Livingston at Celtic Park. He played in midfield or up front and was targeted to ease the Pars` injury crisis.
He was a key man in the Scotland Under-19 team`s run to the 2006 European Championship finals and featured at the Under-20 World Cup in the summer. Michael made his Pars debut at McDiarmid Park on Saturday 10th November 2007.
