Scott was with Dunfermline Athletic since U10s. He is a local lad who attended Queen Anne High School and has been Pars fan all his life.
Scott claimed that the biggest influence of his development has been Stevie Paterson, his coach for three years while in the youth system at Dunfermline. Came through the youth set up at the same time as current U20s team mates Finn Graham, Scott Gray and Lewis Spence.
Went out for a month on loan to Albion Rovers on 8th November 2013.
Made Dunfermline debut when coming on as a sub v Rangers in on 3rd May 2013. Left when contract expired in May 2015 and joined East Fife for the first of two spells, making 67 appearances before moving to Queen of the South in January 2017.
Mercer spent more than three years at Palmerston, playing 112 times, before moving to Falkirk, where he stayed for a season before returning to East Fife.
He turned out on a further 69 occasions for the New Bayview outfit before joining Edinburgh City in January 2023, making 31 appearances before moving to Bonnyrigg Rose in February 2024.
He played 14 times for the Midlothian side - including three of the 2024-2025 season`s Premier Sports Cup ties - before signing for Kelty Hearts in August 2024.
