Dunfermline were without Scott Thomson injured, Jason Dair returned to left back and Hamish French started in preference to Chris McGroarty Queens Park started briskly but never tested Westie Six minutes into the match Owen Coyle had the only early chance but it went over the crossbar

Hamish French put in 13 hard minutes before a collision dazed him to such an extent that he had to be substituted by Chris McGroarty Immediately Andy Smith was handed a penalty when the referee judged him to be taken down in the box A soft decision that Smudger played for and gave the defender no chance Justice was done when Smiythy`s own effort hit the left post rebounded all along the goalline before going out of play for a throw in on the right

A goal did come however after 20 minutes when Stewart Petrie`s cross from the right found Andy smith who nodded down for Owen COYLE to score After that it was one way trafffic; Coyle`s free kick was well saved, next the striker hit one wide left and Andy Smith had one over the crossbar Eddie May and Stewart Petrie had efforts just wide left COYLE scored again in the 39th before PETRIE ran diagonally from the right into the penalty box to shoot in with his favourite left foot.

Half time: Dunfermline 3 Queens Park 0

The second half was a formality and didn`t come to life until 65th minute when Coyle forced the QP keeper to tip his shot over the bar Andy Smith headed over from the resultant corner The only other incident was a goal 9 minutes from time Dair and Petrie combined well down the left and the cross ball found Andy SMITH`s head and subsequently the net.
