Chris Templeman started his career with Dunfermline Athletic, the team he supported as a boy. Whilst with the Pars he had loan spells with Dumbarton and Stirling Albion. Templeman played as a striker. He left in 2001 after four seasons.

Born in Kirkcaldy but a boyhood Pars fan, Chris Templeman made his debut for the club as a 17 year-old in a 2-0 home win against Dundee on 15 August 1998. Being 6` 5`` gave the striker an advantage in the air but he was also skilful on the ball with an eye for goal but he never found the net in 15 appearances for the Pars.

He suffered from the influx of new players Jimmy Calderwood brought to the club and, after loan spells at Dumbarton and Stirling Albion, he joined the latter permanently on 2 February 2001. He soon joined Brechin City where his prolific goalscoring triggered a big-money move back to full-time football with Morton.

After four years there, including a brief loan period back at Brechin, he joined East Fife for 18 months before joining Forfar Athletic, managed by Dick Campbell who had also managed him at Dunfermline and Brechin.
