A local lad, born on 4 November 1971, Andy Tod had two spells at East End Park. Andy first joined Dunfermline when Bert Paton got him to sign from Kelty Hearts on his 22nd birthday. With teams unable to cope with his aerial ability, he scored 13 goals in just 19 starts in his first season and became a huge fans` favourite.

He made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Morton at Cappielow on 4 December 1993, scoring his first goal three days later in a 4-0 home win over Hamilton Academical. Andy started off his Pars` career as a striker but eventually settled into the side as a central defender. He was a regular in the team until the arrival of Jimmy Calderwood and after 264 appearances and 38 goals for the Pars, in October 2000 he joined Stockport County on loan, returning to Dunfermline in January 2001.

He started another loan spell at Bradford City at the start of season 2001/02 and this became a permanent transfer in November 2001 when City, managed by Jim Jefferies, paid the Pars £100,000 for his services. Financial problems meant Bradford were unable to pay an add-on fee after Tod had made 25 appearances and they loaned him out, firstly to Hearts and then to Dundee United.

Eventually Andy returned to East End Park and made his second `debut` in a 0-0 home draw with Celtic on 9 August 2003. He was a late substitute in the 2004 Scottish Cup Final defeat to Celtic and achieved his 300th League appearance against Livingston on 19 November 2005.

He was granted a testimonial season in 2006-07 and made his final appearance in a 2-0 defeat to Hibs at Easter Road on 30 December 2006. He was released at the end of that season, having made 337 starts, 48 substitute appearances, scored 50 goals and played under 7 different managers.

He had a season at Raith Rovers before joining Forfar Athletic. He retired in January 2011 to join the police force.
