Ryan from Earlston in the Scottish Borders has been a goalkeeper since starting at the age of six with Earlston Rhymers. As a boy he was at Hibs under coach Jimmy Bruce and also spent some time at Celtic.

It was while at Spartans at U13 level that coach Paul Donnelly brought him to Dunfermline. He benefitted from goalkeeping coaches Scott Y Thomson and Dave Westwood and was delighted as a full time to train under goalie coach Brian Potter with first team keepers Paul Gallacher and Chris Smith.

After Paul Gallacher was made redundant as a consequence of administration, Ryan was back up to Michal Hrivnak. Waited a long time to make his first team debut. made even tougher in July 2013 with the arrival on six month loan, of Ryan Scully from Partick Thistle.

When Ryan Scully was injured early in the second half of Dunfermline`s match against Airdrieonians on 16th November 2013 he came on for his debut. Made starting debut v Ayr United at Somerset Park on 19th April 2014 but never displaced Scully over the two years as understudy. Released in May 2015.

6 Dunfermline appearances including four off the bench.
