Paul (27) joined Dunfermline on a free transfer ahead of their return to the SPL. A product of Queen of the South`s youth system in 2000 he was promoted to the senior squad in 2002.
His first team debut came against Arbroath on 18th March 2003, before scoring his first senior goal against Ross County in a 3-0 League Cup victory. During his 11 year stay at Palmerston Park Paul primarily played in right midfield but has also been deployed in central and left midfield. Paul was the longest serving player at Queens with over 250 first team appearances when he left to join the Pars in June 2011.
Dunfermline were relegated that season and after making one appearance as a substitute the following season he returned to Queen of the South after negotiating the termination of his contract where he was again to be re-united with Jim McIntyre and Gerry McCabe.
