Neil McGregor was signed after impressing in the home friendly against Coventry on Wednesday 29th July 2009. The 24 year old defender did enough to earn a contract that sees him re-united with former Clyde team mate Chris Higgins at East End Park. He made his first team debut in the Alba Challenge Cup at Dumbarton on Saturday 1st August 2009.
Irvine born, McGregor started playing football at Crosshill United in Kilwinning. When he left school he joined Kilmarnock as a YTS and after two seasons there Graham Roberts signed him for Clyde in the summer 2005.
Neil made a scoring debut in the Scottish Challenge Cup against Brechin City. McGregor had gone from strength to strength after joining Clyde, and was awarded the Man of the Match award during Clyde`s 5-2 extra time defeat to Rangers in the Scottish League Cup.
McGregor was selected in the SPFA First Division Team of 2006-07. He was released by Clyde in June 2009 along with the rest of the out of contract players, due to the club`s financial position. Left Dunfermline when contract expired in 2011.
Dunfermline appearances: 35 (+3 subs), 0 goals
No goals despite Press Association crediting him with one at Palmerston Park that was really Graham Bayne!
