In June 2024 Dunfermline Athletic signed Kieran Ngwenya on a two year deal. He made his debut in the 3-0 Premier Sports Cup win against The Spartans on 13th July 2024.
Kieran is a 21 year old defender who fans would recall playing for Partick Thistle against Dunfermline in September 2023. He was born in Glasgow but was brought up in Edinburgh where he played youth football for Tynecastle Boys Club before joining Aberdeen.
He made his professional debut for the Dons in the league win over Ross County in December 2020. Despite being on the bench many times Kieran only made two appearances for Aberdeen.
In March 2021 he went out on loan to Cove Rangers and played seven games for them including play-off matches against Airdrieonians. The following season he was loaned to Kelty Hearts and used extensively as he clocked up 25 starts and 2 sub appearances.
In July 2022 another loan took Ngwenya to Raith Rovers where he made 30 league and cup appearances. Then in August 2023 Ngwenya again went out on loan to a Championship club, joining Partick Thistle on a season long loan. He made 22 appearances for the Jags, 13 of which as a substitute.
Although born in Scotland, Kieran Ngwenya is also eligible to play for Malawi and Trinidad and Tobago through his parents. In June 2021, he made his international debut starting for Malawi in a 2–0 friendly defeat to Tanzania.
