Jim Scott
Date of Birth: 19-11-1953
Position: Full Back
Joined: 13-08-1970
Appearances: 269
Substitute Appearances: 29
Goals: 19
Nationality: Scottish
Previous Clubs: Leven Royals
Subsequent Clubs: East Fife
Born: Buckhaven
Debut: 15.08.1970 v Motherwell (SLC)
Last Game: 20.10.1979 v Heart of Midlothian (SLFD)
Jim attracted the attention of the Pars after a remarkable season for Leven Royals in which he scored 98 goals and helped the team to several trophies. Much to his surprise he was given an early taste of first team football, making his debut as a substitute in a League Cup tie against Motherwell on 15th August 1970, still only 16 years of age.
Jim became a regular in the team during 1971-1972 and scored his first goal on 18th September in a 1-1 draw at Ayr. Jim was almost an archetypal Scottish midfield terrier, fiesty and hard working, never giving an inch to players who stood taller than his 5`7".
He was a member of the 1972-73 and 1978-79 promotion winning sides, and his regular selection meant he racked up almost 300 appearances for Dunfermline.
Throughout the 70`s, Jim was a regular and effective performer, on occasion skippering the side. His last appearance came on 27th October 1979 and, in the close season in 1980 he moved back to home territory, joining East Fife.
Jim Scott made a total of 298 appearances for Dunfermline, placing him 19th in the All Time List. He scored 19 goals.
