Eddie May was attached to Dundee United as a boy but joined Hibs in his native Edinburgh as an 18 year-old in 1985. After 4 seasons there he spent a season at Brentford before returning to Scotland, spending 4 years at Falkirk followed by 5 years at Motherwell.

He joined Dunfermline in July 1999 and made his debut in a 4-0 home win against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on 7 August 1999. He scored his first goal in a 4-1 home win over Livingston as the Pars went on to win promotion to the Premier Division that season.

A combative midfielder, May was released in March 2001, having made 34 appearances and scored 2 goals. He was part of the squad that won promotion in season 1999/2000.
After leaving East End Park he joined Airdrie and, after a brief spell in Australia, spent time with Berwick Rangers and Falkirk where he became a coach and then manager.

In 2010 he was appointed as a youth coach with Rangers and was subsequently a High Performance Coach at Stirling University and then Academy Coaching Manager at Hibs. He won 2 Scotland under-21 caps and made a brief appearance in the football film `A Shot at Glory`.
