Signed from Rangers in 1998 after only three appearances in three years but having won eight Scotland U21 caps in this period.

David was a product of the Rangers youth system and Bert Paton`s most expensive Pars signing at £200,000 and flattered to deceive for most of his Pars career.

He had made his Rangers debut in a UEFA Cup qualifying match against Shelbourne and made 3 league appearances for The Gers before signing for The Pars.

His first match for The Pars was in a televised 2-1 win over Dundee United in the same game alongside Edinho up front who was also playing his first game for The Pars. Not long after Bert Paton`s departure as manager Dick Campbell publicly criticised Graham`s attitude and this seemed to be the beginning of the end of his career at East End Park.

In 1999/2000 his confidence seemed to vanish altogether and he didn`t start a single league match as the Pars made an immediate return to the Premier League.

David played under three managers in less than three seasons at East End Park, scored six goals in 45 appearances of which more than half were as substitute. This pattern continued when he went out on loan to Inverness , his four appearances all coming off the bench. although Campbell had been dismissed before Graham was sent out on loan to Inverness a season later by Jimmy Calderwood in January 2001 after David had become a bit part player at East End Park with Stevie Crawford and Owen Coyle the preferred strike partnership.

After returning from Inverness he then went on loan to Torquay and had a successful spell at Plainmoor signing for The Gulls on a permanent deal prior to the 2001/02 season.

His form at Plainmoor was noticed by bigger clubs and Wigan Athletic paid £250,000 for his services. He was part of the Wigan side who won promotion to the Premier League but he only contributed 1 league goal that season and was on the move again this time to Sheffield Wednesday for £250,000. He was with The Owls until 2007 but this also included loan moves to Huddersfield, Bradford and his former club Torquay.

After being released by Wednesday where once again his attitude problems had surfaced he trialled with Gillingham and was offered a deal. He was with The Gills for a season before being released and signing for Lincoln City signing a six month deal with The Imps.

After his deal with Lincoln came to an end he dropped down into the Northern Premier League signing for Sheffield, then moved to Conference North side Ilkeston Town before returning to Sheffield when Ilkeston were wound up. In October 2010 he signed for Worksop Town before signing for Sheffield for a third time at the start of the 2011/12 season.
