Barry was a product of Rangers youth policy, signing for the Ibrox club on 3rd July 1995. Despite winning seven Scottish Under 21 caps, he got few games for Rangers and in August 2000 joined Dunfermline. Although he`d played most of his football at Ibrox as a right back, it was on the right side of midfield that he did most of his damage for Dunfermline.
His great energy and vision saw him win three Scotland caps and four Scotland ‘B` caps while at East End Park. His three international appearances while at Dunfermline were against Poland, Latvia and Sweden.
Baz was great success at Dunfermline and played for them in the 2004 Scottish Cup Final against Celtic before being signed former boss Calderwood who had since moved to Pittodrie.
Barry moved to Aberdeen in July 2005 for a reported fee of £250,000. He had left some great memories not least of which was when he scored an ‘Archie Gemmell goal` against Inverness in 2004, ensuring Dunfermline`s participation in a Scottish Cup Final for the first time in 35 years.
