Austin McCann
Date of Birth: 21-01-1980
Position: Full Back
Joined: 02-08-2008
Appearances: 139

Nationality: Scottish
Previous Clubs: Notts County, Airdrie, Clyde, Hearts, Boston United

Austin McCann joined on freedom of contract from Football League Two club, Notts County in May 2008. Austin was a left back who liked to get forward and provide crosses into the opposition`s penalty area.
The 30 year old had played at Airdrie, Clyde (loan) and at Boston United but he was probably better known as a Hearts player. The Jambos paid Airdrie £50,000 for Austin in February 2001 but he moved on to Boston United in June 2004 for an undisclosed fee.
The Clydebank born player joined the Magpies in the summer of 2006 on a free transfer after failing to agree new terms with Boston United, and his performances during his two years at York Street showed enough for County Manager, Steve Thompson to move swiftly to take him to Meadow Lane. He was two seasons at Notts County where he started 61 games and been used as sub on nine occasions.
Made Club Captain for season 2010-11 and went on to play for Ayr United.
