It was the second time that James McPake had signed Alex Jakubiak when he joined Dunfermline Athletic in September 2023. The club secured the signing of 27 year old striker on a deal until the end of the 2023-2024 season. After two appearances off the bench, Alex made his starting debut away to Partick Thistle on 30th September 2023. He opened his account on 30th December 2023 with two goals at Ayr.
Alex who was born in Westminster began on his path to professional football in the under 15s at Watford. He progressed to make 220 senior appearances at 12 clubs but primarily at Bristol Rovers and Dundee.
After loan deals at Falkirk and St Mirren Alex made his move north permanent when he signed a two year deal with Dundee in August 2020. Ankle and thigh injuries curtailed his appearances but he scored 11 of his 40 career goals in his 45 games for the Dee.
Jakubiak played twice for the Scotland under-19 team in 2014.
Alex was released at the end of his Dunfermline contract in May 2024.
