Azza made more than 200 appearances for the club, making him only the 40th player since the post war period to hit that mark, which is a fantastic achievement.

Born on 3rd February 1997 at Kirkcaldy, Aaron grew up in Glenrothes and in fact lived in the family home with his mum, dad and older brother till he was 21. He had no family role models to encourage him to become a professional footballer, but his dad did take him at a very early age to play football with a local teams, Glenrothes Strollers and Woodside Boys Club.

Aaron`s talent was soon to blossom and by the age of nine he was having trials for both Rangers and Celtic, with Celtic the winners on that occasion. He went to a centre in Dundee and then later, to Celtic`s training ground at Barrowfield in Glasgow.

Aaron played for Celtic`s youth teams and then when he was seventeen, his hard work was rewarded with a one year full-time contract. It all seemed too good to be true, and unfortunately that is what it turned out to be. He signed for St Johnstone in June 2015, but at the age of eighteen, first team football in Perth was still some way off, and in December 2015, Aaron went on loan to Montrose till the end of the season. One of the things he enjoyed was his first professional goal on 9th January 2016 - Aaron scored the 84th minute winner for Montrose in a 3-2 win over East Stirling.

Aaron made his St Johnstone debut as a substitute for the injured Richard Foster in the 1-1 draw away to Hamilton Accies on September 25th 2016 but his further taste of first team action was at Peterhead where he made 16 appearances from January 2017.

His first St Johnstone start was next season at the age of 20 in the 1-1 draw against Celtic at Celtic Park in August 2017. When Aaron joined Dunfermline in May 2019 he had made 16 appearances for the Perth club`s first team.

Stats

Aaron Comrie became the 40th player since the start of the post-war period to make 200 first team appearances in official matches (this excludes local and regional competitions and friendlies).

He is the first player since Joe Cardle to achieve 200 appearances, and only the sixth to achieve all 200 appearances since the millennium, the others being the afore-mentioned Joe Cardle plus Scott Wilson, Barry Nicholson, Gary Mason and Andrius Skerla.

While there are others such as Kenny Thomson, Craig Robertson and Bobby Forrest who played some games at full back, there have been only five out-and-out full backs who achieved 200 appearances or more. They are Willie Callaghan (425), Bobby Robertson (412), John Lunn (358), Greg Shields (237) and Bonar Mercer (212) - not bad company!

Aaron scored eight goals in his Pars career to date, which may not sound like a lot, but full backs are not renowned goalscorers. Willie Callaghan scored just six, John Lunn four and Greg Shields two. Three of Aaron`s have come this season, so he`s on a roll!

Aaron has been yellow-carded just eleven times in his Pars career, which is a pretty remarkable statistic for a defender who made over 200 appearances. He`s also had one red card.

On leaving Dunfermline Aaron joined Morton in September 2025.
