Andrew was full time at St Mirren when he was 16 but was let go as a youth player. His move to Dunfermline at the age of 24 for season 2014-2015 meant that was the first time that he has been back full time since then.

Andy played for East Stirlingshire after joining them from Stenhousemuir. He had made 41 outings for the Warriors and added 57 for the Shire becoming a first team regular and totalling 10 goals between the two clubs.

He signed for Stranraer at the end of July 2013 having returned from the United States where he had appeared for Kitsap Pumas, a team from the Professional Development League based in Washington State.
