A very fast winger, arrived in 1987 from Celtic. Famous for his cross-cum-shot that helped defeat Rangers in the 1988 Scottish Cup match, he was part of the pool of players who won the 1988-89 First Division title. In the following season he spent some loan time at Hamilton Accies and Stoke City before leaving to join Nottingham Forest for a reported fee of £100,000.
Further spells down south followed before a return to first club Queen`s Park then on to work as a physio.
