Signed from Inverkeithing Juniors, Jock Bain could always be expected to give his best for the full ninety minutes. The only ever-present when the Pars lifted the Second Division title in 1925/26, he was surprisingly allowed to move on to Dundee United a year later.
While Dunfermline couldn`t find an adequate replacement, Jock never missed a competitive match in his first two seasons with United, winning another Second Division championship medal in 1928/29.
