A Lithuanian internationalist who played for Dunfermline from 2000 to March 2005. Skerla started his career at local club FK Zalgiris Vilnius in 1995, before PSV Eindhoven signed him in 1996

Jimmy Calderwood used his Dutch connections to bring the young centre half Andrius Skerla to the Pars from PSV Eindhoven in 2000. He had been spotted playing in Lithuania by then Eindhoven manager Bobby Robson, and as a teenager went straight into the Dutch side`s first team.

He went on to become one of Dunfermline`s most consistent players for five seasons and he also turned out for his native Lithuania on nineteen occasions making him the equal highest Pars internationalist of all time.

His finest moment in a Pars strip was undoubtedly putting Dunfermline into a 1-0 lead at Hampden in the 2004 Scottish Cup Final.

In March 2005, Skerla announced he wished to leave Dunfermline as he decided to look for new challenges. After Russian side Rubin Kazan had a bid failed because it did not meet Dunfermline`s valuation of the player, Skerla re-iterated his decision that he wanted to move and eventually in August 2005, he moved to FC Tom Tomsk for £200,000.

Became the highest capped Lithuanian in his country`s history.
