Boyle signed a two year contract in June 2011 after turning down offer of a new contract with Partick Thistle. He was unable to stop the teams relegation at the end of that season. The following season he was loaned to Gateshead to ease the club`s financial position.
Paddy, a former Scotland Under 19 cap, started his career with Livingston before moving to Everton`s Youth Academy is 2003 eventually signing a professional contract at Goodison Park in July 2005. Although listed as a substitute on a number of occasions Patrick was unable to break through into the Everton first team.
He did, however, gain first team experience during a loan stint with then Championship Norwich City but after making three appearances his loan deal was curtailed by a back injury.
Paddy had better luck during a loan spell with League One Crewe Alexandra in 2008 making a total of 17 first team appearances while at Gresty Road.
Paddy was released by Everton at the end of the 2007/2008 season and after making three appearances as a trialist for Dumbarton he joined the side that would go on to win the Third Division title early in 2009. Paddy played in total 20 times for Dumbarton as an excellent finish to the season allowed them to the lift the Third Division title on the final day of the season.
The left back then joined Partick Thistle where he caught the eye of Jim McIntyre and he became a Dunfermline player for the start of the 2011-12 SPL season.
After a season on loan at Gateshead Paddy left the Pars in the summer of 2013.
